General Information
Ordering gowns < BACK TO TOP >
If your gown is ordered in, it will be delivered in
store approximately 3-6 months after ordering, unless otherwise stated
on your invoice. You will be contacted when it has been delivered to
arrange your first fitting. On delivery of your gown, there will be 1-3
fittings to ensure the best possible fit. For all your fittings you will
be required to bring your shoes and undergarments (if required) that you
intend wearing on the day. Unfortunately, it is not possible to just
‘try on’ your gown on Thursday nights, Saturday or Sunday.
Cancellation of stock gown(s): < BACK TO TOP >
If you cancel your lay by on a stock gown(s), the following cancellation fee will be incurred:
• An administration fee of 10% of the total lay by
• A fee of 20% of the total lay by will be charged for each month or part thereof, the lay by was held.
Cancellation of ordered gown(s) < BACK TO TOP >
You are entitled to cancel your lay by without penalty within 48 hours of your initial deposit. After this period the following cancellation fee will be incurred:
• An administration fee of 10% of the total lay by will be charged if production on your gown has not commenced.
• A cancellation fee of 50% of the total lay by will be charged if production on your gown has commenced.
• If the gown has been: made and then altered; is made-to-measure; is a special design; or is an imported gown - the order cannot be cancelled and the gown must be paid for in full and taken, or all monies previously paid will be forfeited.
Delivery Times < BACK TO TOP >
If your gown needs to be ordered, it will be delivered to the store approximately 3-6 months after ordering, unless otherwise stated on your invoice. You will be contacted when it has been delivered to arrange your first fitting.
On delivery of your gown, there will be 1-3 fittings to ensure the best possible fit. For all your fittings you need to bring the shoes and undergarments (if required) that you intend to wear on the day.
Alterations < BACK TO TOP >
An alterations service is
available to our bridal customers on Monday to Friday, between the hours
of 10am and 4pm.
Unfortunately we do not provide this service for bridesmaids,
eveningwear or flowergirls. Please speak to a staff member regarding an
alternative alterations provider.
All
alterations will be quoted and charged in addition to the price of the gown,
unless otherwise stated on your invoice.
Full payment of your gown must be finalised before any alterations commence.
If alterations are required, an appointment should be made 3-8 weeks prior
to your wedding (this varies depending on your weight stability, i.e. if you
intend on losing weight, it is best to leave the alterations closer to the
wedding, to ensure the best fit possible, though please discuss this with
your bridal consultant to ensure enough time for alterations). Alterations
can vary from $150 - $450, though in extreme circumstances they could be
more.
Hoops and petticoats < BACK TO TOP >
If your gown requires a hoop/petticoat, it can be
either hired or purchased from Brides of Sydney. The hire cost is $85 with a
$100 bond that is refunded on return of the hoop. The hoop should be
returned within 3 days of the wedding (i.e. if the wedding is on a Saturday,
the hoop must be returned by the following Tuesday). Please note: a late
fee of $10 will be charged each day the hoop is overdue.
Making payments < BACK TO TOP >
If making payments by internet banking, accounts
details as follows:

Please place your surname and wedding date in the
description field, and fax or email receipt on completion of transfer so it
can be recorded on your file. Payments can also be made over the phone by
credit card. If making your final payment by cheque payment must be made at
least 5 working days prior to layby collection.
Lay bys < BACK TO TOP >
If you have outstanding layby
balance and: do not make regular payments; or if there is no contact
made within the layby period; or your layby period has expired, a
courtesy letter will be sent to you. If there is no contact within 14
days of the date of the letter, the layby will be cancelled and all
deposits will be lost.
Final
collection of your gown < BACK TO TOP >
On collection of your gown, please ensure that you
have checked your gown thoroughly and are satisfied with its condition,
prior to leaving the store. Once your gown has left the premises it is no
longer the responsibility of Brides of Sydney.

We have an extensive ready-to-wear section with gowns ranging in price from $300 to $1500. These are gowns made in ready-to-wear standard sizes, so they can be purchased straight off the rack with no ordering time required. You can have these gowns tailored to your exact shape if necessary after purchase.
Once the bride has found her perfect gown, we move on to the rest of the bridal party. We also have a colour matching service to ensure the bridesmaids’ gowns complement the groomsmen’s suits and the flowergirl gowns.
Bridesmaids and Flowergirls < BACK TO TOP >
We have a huge range of bridesmaids and eveningwear that can be ordered in various colours and sizes and range in price from $175 to $595 for bridesmaids, and $125 to $365 for flowergirls.
Menswear – Hire and Sales < BACK TO TOP >
Incorporated with Brides of Sydney, we have Ferrari Menswear. We stock a large range of suits for sale and for hire, ranging from a size 2 child’s suit up to a size 6X. We have suits suitable for weddings, black tie functions, morning suits and also business suits.
