Episode Three – Wednesday 9th November 2016
Sarah visited Brides of Sydney with her fiancé/husband, Simon and mother in law, Gail. With a budget of $6000, our brilliant Sevi had a few ideas in mind.
Sarah was not sure what kind of gown Simon would like to see her in, but thought he might like something figure hugging. First Sarah tried on the Sophia Tolli Sultana – Misty tulle, diamond tulle and delicate allover lace with hand-beaded lace appliqués modified sheath bridal gown, slight cap sleeves, beaded Queen Anne neckline, sheer V-back bodice framed with lace appliqués and back zipper both trimmed with diamante buttons, scalloped hem lace, chapel length train.
Gail loved the strapless look, but thought it looked a bit bare on the top. Sevi suggested they put the straps on the gown which, Simon liked better. Sarah felt pretty, but wanted something a little more playful and dramatic.
Sarah tried on the Allure Couture C388. This magnificent sleeveless gown channeled the opulent glamour of the 1920s.
Sarah loved the antique gold colour, but Simon always envisaged Sarah wearing white on her wedding day, the colour wasn’t what he expected. When Sarah turned around to show them the back, their jaws dropped, it certainly was spectacular! Simon felt that he was looking at the dress on Sarah and not Sarah in the dress and they decided to take it down a notch.
Adam suggested Allure Bridals 8955 – This romantic bridal gown is created from layers of soft organza. The bodice features a sweetheart neckline with lace, while the waistline has a satin band with a sparkling appliqué. There were instant tears from Gail, which was a good sign for Sarah. Simon adored it, “She looks beautiful, confident, happy and at one with the dress she is wearing” he said.
Sarah could see herself walking down the isle in the dress. It was a definite YES TO THE DRESS and she cried a few happy tears. Simon said he was privileged to share this special moment with Sarah and it was beautiful a preview of their upcoming wedding day.
Caitlin, from Western Sydney, visited Brides of Sydney with her Fiancé Kira. The girls were planning a garden ceremony in Australia, but having their legal wedding in New Zealand. Caitlin wanted a simple gown with sweetheart neckline and some subtle sparkle. Her number one requirement was that and did not want to look like a meringue! She was concerned that she would not be able to find a dress in her size and really wanted a gown that made her feel wonderful. “My job is to make Caitlin feel safe, comfortable and beautiful,” said Sue.
“Oh wow, I have a waist!” said Caitlin when she put on the Allure Romance 2809. This bridal gown is for the lover of all things feminine. It features a floral patterned lace, tulle and a gorgeous Swarovski crystal accent. Kira and Caitlin had different opinions, Kira did not like the lace or the buttons.
Next Caitlin tried on the Allure Women W350 – There is always a place in our hearts for a classic tulle ballgown, and this is no exception – proof that you never play with perfection. Her bridesmaids loved the cut and subtle detail. The straps helped her feel secure and comfortable. Kira could not pick her jaw up off the floor, she is not often lost for words.
Caitlin felt the gown was a bit too full on the bottom. “If you’re not feeling it, try on another dress, that’s what we’re here for!” Said Adam.
There was one gown that caught Caitlin’s eye on the way in that she was just dying to try on. Allure Bridals 8769 – Signature Allure embroidery and Swarovski crystals make this bridal gown stunning. The fitted bodice features a sweetheart neckline, ruched organza, and rich embellishment throughout. “Holey moley!” said Kira. This gown accentuated Caitlin’s curves and she looked stunning. Caitlin instantly felt like a bride, confident and pretty. She felt ready to walk down the isle, see Kira there and start their happily ever after. It was a resounding YES TO THE DRESS from everyone.
Stay at home mum, Shirley, came in to Brides of Sydney with her parents for her final fitting. With only 3 days to go until the wedding, she was worried that her Eddy K gown would not fit correctly. When she had first tried it on it was slightly big for her, however being pregnant now added to the challenge.
Veronica made all the required alterations to the gown, so that it fit her flawlessly. Shirley and David, were married during a beautiful sunset ceremony by the harbor. Shirley absolutely glowed in her gown, and it fit her like a glove. Congratulations Shirley and David, we hope you had a magical wedding day!
